Logfly 6
Alpha version
The sixth version is available as an alpha version. The term alpha means that this version does not have all the features expected in the final product and most likely contains a significant number of bugs.
Logfly 6 is not an evolution of Logfly 5 but a complete rewrite in a different language and execution environment. This is the reason why we may find many regressions. After validation, this new environment will allow access to additional features.
The visual interface evolves for more flexibility and homogeneity between the different operating systems.
Language
Although designed in France, the original language of Logfly is English. Logfly 6 uses the same language dictionary as Logfly 5 but new expressions have appeared. They are not yet translated, so they will be displayed in English.
For the moment German and Italian are not yet implemented.
Cohabition V5/V6
The migration of all features from version 5 to version 6 will be progressive. While Logfly is being rewritten, you can cohabit the two versions to keep all the possibilities.
The installation procedure is classic: see the installation section. Version 6 is installed under the name Logfly with a very visible 6 on the usual logo. The logbook(s) are of course the same.
Warning
We return to the short name "Logfly" without specifying the number. If you have kept version 4, you must remove it before installing version 6
At the first run, Logfly6 detects the Logfly5 settings file and copies its own configuration on the V5 operation scheme. Then the two configurations are independent: if you decide to set Google maps as default background on Logfly6, this change will not be reflected in Logfly5.
On the other hand, the notebook updates are done on a single file. You can therefore use both versions in a transparent way.
